New Westminster Horticultural Society

Welcome!

We meet monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Centennial Lodge in Queens Park to hear invited speakers talk about a variety of topics that are of interest to gardeners. Tea time provides time to socialize and check out the raffle table and library. Meeting begins at 7:30pm

Our other events include the spring plant sale, the parlour show, a summer garden tour and picnic, bring-and-share, silent auction and year-end dinner.

Grand Prize Winner Has Choice of Ocean View Luxury Home or Cash
Well, no not really, but there is no cost to enter and the cash prizes are pretty good. All you have to do is bring a photo! You're taking photos of your garden anyway right? Just get them printed and bring them to the October meeting. Please read the rules and more info.

There are three different contests: the Photo Contest, Garden Design Contest and Container Contest. The photo contest has three categories and this year's Colour in the Garden entries must feature white in the composition - white can be difficult to capture nicely, but you're up challenge!

PS - Someone - I won't name names - won nearly every category last year. Do you want to that to happen again? No? Then get your cameras out! :)

August Meeting

Terry McIntosh on Native Plants of BC
Terry will broaden our plant knowledge beyond our gardens to plants in our own backyards - native plants - that are beautiful, fascinating, weird and wonderful.

Want to help run the club? Have ideas you'd like to incorporate? Consider running a position on the club executive. Anna will be reminding people to put their names forward. Exec meetings are usually short and are on Tuesdays a week before the general meeting.
