Overview

If you are interested in gardening and horticulture, this is the club for you! Activities include monthly meetings (except January), the 2008 Spring Plant Sale (click on the link to read about this year's Plant Sale on Sunday, May 4th, 10 AM to 4 PM at Ecole Glenbrook Middle School), the Annual In Club Garden Tour and Picnic, a Christmas Dinner and several social outings selected to expose members to unique gardening experiences.

Meetings are highlighted by invited speakers or special themes. One month is reserved for the club's ever-popular Silent Auction; and December for the year end social and awards night.

The member-to-member sharing of gardening ideas  is emphasized at the "Bring-to-Share" portions of the April and September meetings. Our In Club Show is the highlight of the June meeting. If members desire, the Queensborough Urban Farmers Fall Fair in September is another venue for judged competition.

The Society also financially supports college and university horticultural students through the B.C. Council of Garden Clubs scholarship and bursary programs. Through our Donations Committee, we give aid to horticultural projects throughout New Westminster (download the Donation Program Application form, Application Deadline: Friday, May 16, 2008). Whether it is a competition award, prizes from the raffle or gardening tips and ideas, you will always leave with some treasure and of course - the monthly newsletter.

Tea and goodies, contributed by club members, are shared at every meeting.

Membership Information

Join the club at any one of our meetings. We meet the second Tuesday of the month (except January) at the Centennial Lodge in Queens Park, just below the picnic site.

Annual Fee: $10 (renewed in February)
Individual Meeting Drop-in Fee: $2
